Mackenzie’s is definitely one of the first places I think about going if I’m after a drink or two in Old Town. Nice decor inside, with plenty of places to sit and relax. The bar is big enough that it’s usually quick to get served and there’s a good choice of drinks. There’s always a great atmosphere, with a varied customer base. My only complaint, and it’s a small one, is that the beer garden feels cobbled together and a little grubby. There’s plenty of tables and chairs, but it’s in need of a good clean. It’s the only thing stopping me giving is a 5 star rating.
Great night. 2 for 1 cocktails. Not feeling great the next morning. But that's another story! Lovely decor, friendly staff and atmospheric outdoors. Good location in town.

It’s a nice pub. Don’t expect to be blown away by the food, but it’s perfectly fine if you’re just after something to accompany your drinks. There’s always a nice atmosphere and a good mix of young and older customers. It suitable for everyone. Kids are allowed until 7pm (may have changed?), so if you do have them with you, don’t leave it too late to order food. Plenty of seats inside and out, and a nice place to spend a few hours.
Nice venue. Recently decorated. Didn't feel warm. Cold blue and green colours. Very large. Polite staff. Beer and coder selection not vast. Some interesting choices though.

Decent place to drink a beer or coke, fast service so no waiting here the downside would be you'll have to get the order yourself no one's coming to serve you, overall I recommend this place.
Really nice place, but the bar man couldn't pull a pint of real ale properly. I had more head on my pint than beer!
1-3 Devizes Road, Old Town, Swindon SN1 4BJ, UK – 01793 488450
It's a cosy place with good choice of food and drinks. Lots of Spanish specialties to try. Food is sized for eating at least one starter and one main. Service is fast. Playing Spanish music would make the place more authentic.
This place is special, the food and service are truly exceptional, best in Swindon by a long long way. Other reviews say it all, no one leaves disappointed. Very very very good indeed.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, they made sure that we knew of any extra costs (on top of the voucher) before we ordered which made them seem really honest and respectable. I had the chicken tandoori and it was delicious! Honestly the food was some of the best Indian food I have had in a restaurant. It was also really lovely decor and the staff were wearing traditional dress which made it feel like a real experience. I loved it, would highly recommend, and I would definitely go again!
A fantastic restaurant, amazing staff and service. The food is absolutely out of this world. We went for my daughters birthday and they surprised us by decorating the table and put up birthday banner for her. I can't thank them or praise them enough . Thank you xx

Excellent food. We went for my fiance's Birthday meal and they treated her very well. Recommend you book in advance as it gets busy but there's plenty of room and I'm a big guy. I'm a huge fan of Italian food almost to the point I'd rather stay at home and make my own as opposed to paying for it out as the experience can be hit or miss. I've been there twice and We'll be going back again in the bear future. Dennis
Always excellent, their calamari is the best in town (they do it 'properly' cutting julienne strips down the line of body so it's always tender, instead of making rings cutting across the muscle so it can go rubbery if cooked for 2secs too long). Lunch time deal is fantastic and they even do it at the weekend! (£7.95 for /any/ pizza or pasta on the menu, how can you go wrong?!)
53 Devizes Rd, Swindon SN1 4BG, UK – 01793 521515
Excellent service and the food was absolutely devine! It was nice that Connie, herself came out to welcome us. Was made to feel very welcome. Love this place. Best Chinese in swindon. Will definitely be going back ❤
Best food in the area so far, family run resteraunt that has been in the area for decades. Highly recommended.

Very nice food right on time as well.
Excellent food allways on time and you can't beat the roast duck curry you sure get your moneys worth
200 Ferndale Rd, Swindon SN2 1HB, UK – 01793 524064
Nice food but really small portions for noodles. Nice meat and ingredients. *** updated review from 3* to 4* as the food quality and the size of noodles seemed much better over recent weeks
Chinese food always excellent. Avoid fish-&-chip menu as sausages, chips, etc, just sit in the warmer for hours waiting for people to buy them until they are stale, stodgy, dry, wrinkly... Sausages are sometimes not cooked properly.

Professional class Indian Bangla restaurant in the center of old town. Amazing tandoori cooked food with a natural blend of spices. Amazing Indian and Asian staff member. With a perfection quality of service.
Good food. Friendly staff which were very accommodating! Would visit again

This is an edited post. Since I wrote the first post I've visited this restaurant a number of times. My opinion on this place has really changed. Based on what? The answer is the biriyani served here. It is without a doubt the best I think I've ever tried. Coupled with a mixed vegetable curry on the side you have a truly delicious meal. The starters I still think could be better. The service is also pretty good.
Consistently good food at great prices in an easy to find location near the centre of town. Great for quick working lunches. The lunchtime menu is an absolute steal: a starter, a main (both chosen from a short list of four or five dishes) plus a rice and a naan for a couple of quid short of a tenner, with a scoop of ice cream to finish off. All of it is tasty but the naan is particularly good: soft and fluffy where it should be, crispy where it should be. And if you ring your order ahead, you can be in and out as quickly as you want (for those on short lunch hours). The buffets are also good, again great value tasty food. With lots of parking options nearby, and bus stops too, this is a great place with lovely food in an ideal location.

Nice place, calm and not crowded. The staff are super delicated and friendly. The food taste delicious and I think you can have a really true experience with Indian food without going to India.
Tasty food, good music, spacious seating arrangement, value for money. We get authentic north indian food here..kids loved butter chicken..

My wife and I arrived late in the evening and we was treated like royalty. I was immediately impressed and when I explained that it was my first time in an Italian restaurant The manager took the time to explain the dishes. We had the prawns and the lobster dishes and WOW! It was gorgeous and satisfying. Thank you guys for a great experience and as a wheelchair user I felt valued and happy. My wife enjoyed herself as much as I did. See you guys again soon
I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here. Food is good. Staff are friendly. Service is quick. The restaurant has a chilled atmosphere. Prices are reasonable, and if you can get vouchers (usually you signing up and getting emails from them) then you can get a really good meal for cheap as you can often get mains for free, among other special offers.

Once again a very well cooked meal along with friendly service. I took advantage of their specials board and had the fish mixed grill which showed both variety and taste. We both had their Tiramisu for dessert, will it would have been rude not to. Coupled with their very good house wine, the meal could not be beaten.
I love this place. Haven't been there for a few years, but went back for lunch in the mid week. Staff are lovely, food is excellent and traditionally Italian. I'll be back soon!

Fabulous food as usual. We always go here for our wedding anniversary and as children our parents used to get pizza take away. Wonderful atmosphere and amazing service. Thank you so much for another wonderful meal.
A great return visit to a real Italian restaurant. Walking in, felt like being in Italy with the sound of lovely romantic Italian music and a warm greeting. The food was excellent - we had fresh mussels and mushrooms in blue cheese sauce for starter, pizza de mare and escalope with mushroom sauce for main and chocolate fudge cake - which was the lightest I have ever tasted. We had wine with our meal and finished off with a limoncelo and real espresso and cappuccino coffees. Loved it.

The perfect evening for those looking for an authentic thai cuisine. The delicious food throughout my dinner. Fantastic customer service which brightened up my experience. Overall a delightful experience.
We haven't been in years, but went back when we had visitors. Their curries are really nice, I like the jungle curry. Their vegetable dishes are also very good, I'd recommend them.

We love the Americana cheesy bites and we regularly go there once a month or twice on holidays. They skimp on the cheese in the cheesy bites as oppose to when it was introduced and they are smaller now also. Also the salad bar is a lot to be desired if they are busy - all the time. The salad bar should be palatable ALL the time and not make one sick to think "is it clean and savoury". Love our pizza hut but come on Greenbridge Pizza Hut in Swindon, do better. A tip: make sure the staff don't speak over the pizza on delivery. Keep the pizza at a distance if you need to say something and use the least amount of words to minimise spit as a huge hate of mine!! Ensure hands are not wiping faces or touching hair - we the customers do notice these things and is make or bredk to the experience had at Pizza Hut.
Service slow although unusually quiet during a later evening Saturday visit about 9.30pm. For party of 6. Several tables not cleared of odds and ends from previous diners. Food okay and limited staff friendly enough. Not offered any sweet at 10.30 so guess they were winding down already.

Fabulous food, a good welcome & excellent service. The dosas really are good, and I've eaten many in different places. These are crisp, well filled & come with all the correct accompaniments.
A good and economic place. Cloe was very pleasant at attending us. Worth repeating. 4 of us had a good lunch for less than 25£.

Nice but a tad pricey

Byrons is the best pub in Swindon, always a fun night. I have been going there for twenty years and have always had a great time. I love this pub, one of the few proper pubs left and a great atmosphere.

It’s okay. I just feel the atmosphere and experience isn’t the same as somewhere like Rudi’s or McKenzies - both similar bars, but get it right (In my opinion). Last time I visited Longs during an evening, it smelt unpleasant which could’ve been the toilets, or someone had been sick on the floor. I used to be a big fan of Longs, but feel it’s lost it’s identity a little.
Small but with friendly staff and reasonable prices.
